Football game, weekend getaway and Fire Station tour!

snacking in the stands
We took Jake to the high school football game last Friday night, and he had a great time! He loves watching football on TV with daddy, and this time he got to watch the game from the stands. He lasted through the first half and all of half-time (with the help of snacks!) It was Homecoming, and they set off fireworks during the half-time show which Jake LOVED! He asked for "more" when the fireworks show was over, and when we told him it was all done, he said "go home." So we left. Maybe next year he'll be able to last into 3rd quarter! The next morning he woke up talking about the "football game" and the "2 firetrucks" he saw when we were leaving the game :)

This weekend we went to visit Joe's Godmother "Grandma" Geary-Ellen, and her daughters "Auntie" Christine and "Auntie" Elizabeth. They live 2 1/2 hours away and Jake did great on the car rides there and back. We stopped both ways to eat a meal, and the rest of the time, Jake napped or watched his Cars DVD. We had a great time with the girls and Jake had so much fun playing at their house and being the center of attention! We took a trip to a local barn that sells amazing pies, baked goods, etc. and Jakey had a blast checking out all the animals there. He especially liked the cows, the goats, the sheep and the ducks. On this trip we realized that Jake is getting way too big for the pack n' play, so that will make future travel quite interesting. Thanks for a great mini-vacation, girls!

We went on a tour of a local Fire Station today with our Moms Club. Jakey had so much fun running around the Fire Station and checking out the firetrucks! His favorite part was driving the firetruck, of course :) Jake didn't even get scared when the Fireman put on all his gear. The Firemen were so nice, and patient with all of our crazy kids, and it was such a fun morning!

Jake is talking up a storm these days and repeating anything and everything. My mom taught him how to say "baby, it's cold outside!" and that is one of his faves. He also likes to say "go this way" or "go that way" when he wants to lead the way. He loves to count and knows tons of numbers and colors, and several letters as well. He also likes to say "where did ____ go?" when he is looking for a toy. He also points out when something is "way over there!" He loves playing and running around with other kids, and is starting to play pretend which is so funny to watch. He is still a ham, and loves showing off for family and friends. He still mentions Halloween but we are trying to get him to warm up to the idea of Thanksgiving :) He likes to say "gobble gobble" when he sees a turkey, and he loves cranberries, and football, so he will probably have a blast on turkey day!
