Jake's first solo trip on a ride:
This week, we met our Wednesday playgroup at a local pumpkin patch. We had so much fun! Jake spent about 30 minutes in the bounce house, and I thought he would never stop jumping! But finally, I persuaded him to check out the swings. I wasn't too sure that Jakey would be up for riding on his own, but he LOVED it! He is quite the little adrenaline junkie and had to ride it twice in a row! He had a huge smile on his face and was asking for more as soon as it was over. The only way I could convince him to exit the swings was to promise him another ride. So we headed over to the spinning ride (kind of like the teacups but up in the air) and although I didn't feel losing my breakfast, I took one for the team and rode the ride with my little man. I held off on the spinning for the first half of the ride, and just let it fly us around, and then decided to turn the wheel and slowly spin...Jake loved it of course! I had to close my eyes because I was getting dizzy (I am so NOT a fan of the teacups!) but Jake was having a blast! Luckily, I kept my breakfast down :) Finally, we made our way over to the huge inflatable slide. It was beyond difficult to climb up the slippery "stairs" without shoes on (socks only!) while helping Jake climb up too. It was a long process to get to the top because we would slip back down every few feet. Finally, some kind soul helped pull Jake up to the very top, so we could slide down. It was really fast, and so much fun! And when we were done, Jake said "again!" So up we went, one more time. Next time, maybe Daddy can take him on the inflatable slide! At least I got my work out in for the day...
