Our little monkey had his last Kindergym class (of the Spring session) last Wednesday and I finally remembered to take some photos! As you can see, he is quite the climber! This class was perfect for Jake - he was able to run free almost the entire time (a small portion of the class was circle time) and play on all of the fun equipment! His favorite thing each week was climbing up and running down the wedges. But by the end of the 8 week class, he had tried out almost everything! We start a similar class at the end of June called "Stretch, Wiggle & Roll" and I'm sure Jakey will have a great time monkeying around in that class too!
I have been keeping track of the number of words that Jakey uses correctly, and this week he hit the 100 mark! Only a couple of months ago he was at 25 words or so, and in the last 2 months his language has exploded! As with most toddlers, Jake's pronunciation and sounds are a work in progress. Thank you is "day gu," zebra is "eeba," muffin is "muh in," etc. The funniest one is his name though. He has a really hard time with J sounds and cannot say Jake. So he calls himself "Deet." Cracks us up! He loves to make animal sounds and his favorite animal right now is a cow. He LOVES to moo. And Jake doesn't just moo, he MOOS!!! REALLY LOUD.
We are looking forward to a Summer of many more firsts for Jake. His first swim lessons, his first trip to the beach, his first movie in the theater, his first plane ride! Wish us luck on that last one :)
I'm so impressed by Jakey's skills on that gym equipment. He's such an adorable, little monkey!
