On Saturday we met Jackie, Geoff and their cutie pie Kyra at The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach for some fishy fun. They play the commercial for this aquarium all the time during Ellen, and Jakey loves to see it on TV! And their jingle is forever stuck in my head (The Aquarium it's terrific! The Aquarium of the Pacific.) So I thought it would be a great idea for us to check it out in person...

The Tippers have an annual membership so they showed us around. It was very crowded, but we managed to see almost everything. Jakey was fascinated by all of the fish, birds and other marine life. He loved looking through the glass and watching the "fishies" in action! He liked looking at the birds too, but got a little upset when one of them climbed up on my shoulder. He also got a little jealous when I was holding Kyra. I guess Jake doesn't want to share his mommy with other children or animals! Jakey and I especially liked watching the sea lions - they were so cute playing with each other and interacting with their human audience as well. They really do have cat-like whiskers and personalities!

After we finished touring the aquarium, we went outside to let our toddlers run around and release some energy before dinner. We tried (and failed) to get some good photos of Jake and Kyra together...but who wants to sit still for a photo when there is so much to explore? We were able to see the Queen Mary from the park and Jakey was obsessed with pointing at the "boat!" Jake was all over the place, as usual, and Joe and I took turns chasing him around the park and beyond. He just runs anywhere and everywhere. It's exhausting keeping up with him sometimes! I wish he was a little more like sweet little Kyra and stayed somewhat close to his parents! He is a such a rambunctious little guy and SO full of energy. Not sure if it's a boy thing or a personality thing?!? But we sure do love our crazy little man! And at least we get lots of exercise chasing after him!
