Kyra's 1st birthday party:
My little baby boy - who is not so little anymore - turned 17 months old today, and it hit me kinda hard! 17 months sounds so old, probably because it is! 1 more month until he hits that big "18 months" number - the one that makes him eligible for toddler classes instead of "baby" classes, the one that makes him only 6 months away from turning 2! As I'm writing this, I am watching today's Oprah on TiVo and Celine Dion is talking about how fast the baby stage goes. Boy is she right.
Jakey is literally all over the place. He is a very busy boy, and loves to play outside. He is getting very independent and would rather walk/run all over the park grounds instead of be confined to just the playground equipment itself (which makes for a great workout for me!) I'm not sure when the novelty of walking/running wears off, but right now Jake is enjoying all the freedom that it brings!
Jake has always been a talker, and is constantly jabbering in his own Jakey language! Tons of gibberish, with a few real words thrown in :) He repeats a ton of words, and uses several in the correct context. His latest faves are "uh oh" when he drops something, and "please" (which sounds like "peash" - so adorable!) when he wants something!
He had a great time at Kyra's birthday party last weekend and loved hanging with the other kids, and playing and running back and forth from inside to outside! He wore us out chasing him around, but we're so glad he had so much fun! Thanks Miss Kyra for a great party!
Jakey had a fun Valentine's Day too! I am a member of the local Mom's Club and we had a party in the morning for the little ones. Jakey handed out Valentine's (ok maybe I did it for him) and took home a bunch of Valentine's from the other kids! Too cute. That night, my parents took us out and we had a fun Valentine's Day dinner party with our favorite little cutie pie!
I still can't believe how big Jake is getting! You're right - he seems much older now, but he's so adorable and so much fun! Maybe he can teach Kyra to start talking - she's definitely not the talker that he is. Thanks so much for catching some cute photos from Kyra's party! I was so busy with Kyra and chatting with everyone that I never even had a chance to get photos of all the decor. I'll definitely remember that in the future! Once I get caught up on school work, then I'll put together my own party blog post.
ReplyDeleteHe is such a big boy now! He is so smart and sweet. Looks adorable with PaPa!
ReplyDeleteTime sure flies!!
Kyra looks so cute. Glad her party was fun!
Love,
Mom
Jake's so cool in his shades -- and looks bigger than you! I love the picture of your dad reading to Jakey, too. Yes, hearing Ethan say, "Pease," usually gets him anything he wants! ;-)
